About OCD What is OCD? OCD is Obsessive-Compulsive-Disorder: recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced, at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress. What causes OCD? There are no facts or definite reasoning for what causes OCD. There is not anything that can directly cause OCD that is known, and to our knowledge there are no ways for OCD prevention.
